Atlantic Beach floats idea of fall Bikefest to follow spring rally success
The Grand Strand could see another motorcycle rally this fall if a proposal in the town of Atlantic Beach takes hold. Town Councilman Donnell Thompson has proposed that the town host a fall Atlantic Beach Bikefest this year.
It looks like Atlantic Beach is going to hold a fall rally (annual) starting this fall. The mayor has given the green light as well. If this does go down, PLEASE SUPPORT THE ATLANTIC BEACH VENDORS, AND DON'T SPEND MONEY,, DON'T EVEN GO INTO THE CITY LIMITS OF MYRTLE BEACH, SC. They don't want bikers there, the harley (white bikers) have boycotted Myrtle Beach, and we should do likewise. As a Myrtle Beach resident, I REFUSE to spend my money there. I will go to Surfside, or Carolina Forest before spending my hard-earned money in a city that passes laws to discourage travel in their jurisdiction, just taking away the rights of hard working Americans. BLACK AND WHITE! So, I will keep you all posted on this.. Thanks..

I read an article about this in the Sun, the holdup seemed to be how to pay for police presence

Yeah it's more for the harley crowd, i was there once by accident. it's a smaller version of the spring harley rally.

We have never had black bike week other than memorial day weekend. This would/will be the 1st annual fall Atlantic Beach bike rally. To the vendors, stop putting MYRTLE BEACH BIKE WEK on the articles. We are not going to support that city in NO WAY whatsoever.. Thanks..

IT IS for the harley riders. Its not really the size of the rally, its the amount of people that come that makes a big impact. Its like the Atlantic Beach black bike week a few weeks ago, we had a great turn-out, and the vendors, and that small black town did GREAT, and they really want a fall rally to bring in more revenue. When you are a small black town that only covers 3 blocks, you think of ways to earn extra revenue. I agree that a fall rally would be the right thing to do ESPECIALLY since the harley riders have one. They like the black bikers are boycotting Myrtle Beach FOREVER.. Keep checking here, and I will keep everyone updated..

About four years ago I read up on the History of Atlantic Beach and I even donated money.
All I have to say is if Atlantic Beach holds a Fall Bike Rally I will be in the house to say that i supported the First Fall Bike Rally at Atlantic Beach.
The hotels and resorts will be reasonable beacuse the PEAK season will be over. I think it is a good idea.
Okay Okay yall know I will do anything to get back to MB before 2010  
But am I helping to encourage some people to come out.
Is is official or are we still in the talking phase. Cause if Atlantic Beach gives the green light I am going to start right now making some arrangements.

How wonderful would it be if some of us put in together to get one of those HUGE homes. That way we can party REAL hard. Okay let me calm the hell down.
I am going to research this topic and I will hit yall back.

The Grand Strand could see another bike rally later this year. Atlantic Beach is looking at hosting a fall version of the Memorial Day Bikefest.
Town councilman Donnell Thompson brought up the idea at a council meeting this week. Councilwoman Charlene Taylor said she would support a fall Bikefest, if it would make more money for the town, but she says it's too early to say whether it could be done.
One Atlantic Beach resident said he thinks a fall rally would be a good idea.
"I do believe the support and the financial help from another bike rally would bring Atlantic Beach out of a lot of the financial struggle they're in," said Alphonza Wilson.
Atlantic Beach's interim town manager has been directed to research the issue and report back at the next town council meeting in July.
The fall Harley Rally this year is scheduled for September 30th through October 4th.

We have been talking about going back down just the the hell of it. But if this jumps off, I'm damn sure gonna be down one oway or another. But when in October are they talking? I think the whole house thing is a real good. Just keep me posted on it. If u look into.

Blackbusinessowner - I have your information and will surely get with you. I am all for the GROWN and SEXY coming together for one common cause:

Sometimes it is hard to get participation with some many people not knowng each other. However I have met some fine individuals from this site and I am planning yet another meet and greet for those who like to get into N. MB early. I would love to see it grow.
I do know that some people want there privacy and would rather hook up with people to party however would chose not to lodge with them (it is that whole what happens in MB stays in MB) I got it respect it.
But this is a call to my girl Cherry chap stick and Lucky. MEN are welcomed but if we can get one of those ten bedroom oceanfront homes I know we would have the time of our lives. But this may be wishful thinking. I put a $100 deposit down for my spot as soon as the 2010 rates hit I have to put my 1/3 down. I am more than willing to change locations if peopel are willing but for now I have what I can afford (4 bedroom condo).
People let me know what you think. Blackbusinessowner give me your thougts also.
